Day 1
This workshop will be successful for me if...
- If I learn valuable information about programs, apps and tools that I can integrate into my teaching
- If I make connections with other educational professionals who have similar questions, interests and difficulties in respect to ICT
- If I have fun because we all know giving up a weekend is difficult during the school year
How will/have ict change the way we teach pyp?
- We need to teach how to manage ICT (devices, programs, etc)
- There is less pressure on the teacher having all of the answers as students have access to the global network - responsibility is placed on the students to take ownership of their inquiries
Implementing our target activity (knowledge Wheel)
We would have students create a Prezi powerpoint which they could manipulate at the same time. We would use the idea of the knowledge wheel where each student would share 5 things on a Prezi slide about their background, culture, favorite food, etc. We would then put the Prezi up on the screen and have each person share another student's slide. This links to being open minded where students would learn about different cultures and ways of life in other places. The students are reflective of their experiences and are communicators by communicating other's information to the class. This activity can build international mindedness by inquiring into the lives of their classmates and their experiences.
2 understandings
1. ICT is meant to be integrated into PYP classrooms only if it supports the POI and daily learning needs of the students. In no way should ICT be used just for the sake of using ICT.
2. You need to look at what you want to accomplish before choosing wikis, blogs, websites. They serve different functions and need to be used in accordance to your needs.

Day 2
How I could implement twitter...
I could implement twitter in my classroom by giving parents updates throughout the school day of things happening in the classroom through messages, photos and video.
I could also use twitter to have students tweet their responses to questions posed on twitter or to react to videos, articles or links to anything that can be responded to.
How I've used technology to support reflection and/or self assessment
- I used class dojo's report function where parents and students have logins and passwords to view their child's performance in class
- I've used wiki to allow students a forum to reflect on their weekends/vacations
- Created movies to reflect on the procedure of making of pizza by narrating the process as well as reflecting on a weight lesson where they described the process

Skitch: You can have students write/type over a picture to share their feelings on that picture and compare the responses with their classmates which can eventually projected onto the screen.
